Saving Mothers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating preventable maternal deaths and birth-related complications in low-resource settings.
Attached is a short article about their newest initiative in Guatemala and response to COVID. As Covid pounded the developing world, Jessica Oliveria, DMS, MSPA began thinking of what the organization would need to do to continue to support the low resource communities abroad. Women in the Guatemala communities were afraid to seek care as there is a lot of misinformation and fear among community leaders as well as medical professionals. In response, she designed the following protocol which has been implemented for the past 2 months.
