  • This organization engages in the all encompassing approach to improving health care through empathy, compassion, and serving the less fortunate. They currently have programs to promote elementary education, nutrition, supplying life saving medicines, donations of updated medical equipment to hospitals along with provisions and staffing of remote clinics and local hospitals.

  • Every year multiple mission occur where healthcare professionals practicing in the U.S. come to support their Haitian counterparts assigned to the health centers and hospitals of the southeast department of Haiti. while offering in-hospital and mobile clinics our volunteers provide medical assessments, deliver curative care and support patient education. All patients receive these services free of charge and all medications are given at no cost to the patients.

Caribbean Lifetime Missions (customizable trip)
  • Involves both mobile/informal clinic coverage and formal standing clinics. Taking 12 trips per year from 8 days to 2 weeks. Groups organized by hospitals/universities can go to all locations. Individual volunteers can only go to Jamaica at this time.

  • Accommodations in Jamaica are at the organizations Jamaica Camp, rental phones are available for purchase for $5.00/day and will be given to you a few days prior to departure, internet access is available approx. 20min walk from the camp. Length of trips are typically 8days and 7 nights, timing can be customized. You will be required, however, to bring your own sheets and towels.

Health Horizons International
  • This organization offers medical service volunteer trips three times a year. They are partnered with the Dolores de la Cruz Maternidad front-line hospital to serve core underserved communities and operate clinics. The aim to create continuity for patients and implement continued learning and sharing of medical ideas with local physicians.

Haiti Health Initiative
  • Accepts PAs and PA Students 1-2 per trip

  • Type of Experience: Camping Style – involves a 1.5mi uphill hike to site on rugged terrain, will require backpack/luggage that can be carried. Bunkbed lodging, shower availability dependent on rain. Food is prepared by local Haitian community members.

  • This organization seeks to offer free medical and pharmacy services to entire families living in the poor rural areas of the Dominican Republic. They emphasize health education into their programs to improve health in the mind, body and spirit. In the future, they are looking to take their mission to orphanages in Guyana.

  • 65 bed hospital with two operating rooms, a full lab facility, endoscopy, Xray and complete pharmacy. Involved in the surgeries, clinical care and education of local clinicians for continued practice

  • Can get involved in Cholera clinic, dental clinic, maternity waiting house, prosthetics clinic, eye clinic and general community health
